I've heard of the song too and i think i have come to my best conclusion that he is talking to someone that died. The first time i heard it, i assumed that the speaker was someone who died and is singing from heaven( not that it is possible but i've heard a song made to sound that way). My assumption came from wat he said in the song " BUt i never did forget your name" but wen i listened to the song again i found out that sometimes the pain and hurt he felt still comes back again. My best understanding of this song is that the speaker had a great misunderstanding with someone else, who he forgave but died before he could say he had forgiven the person. He is telling the person who died that he is not the same anylonger and that he is a changed person. It's a dedication to the person who died that he( the speaker) is not the person he was or was known to be. He is now a changed man.Maybe it shows that we don't know when a loved one would be gone so we should always whisper words of love cos u might never know when it would be too late and u wouldnt want ur last words to that person to be one of hatred.

The beginning is talking about being hurt and hurtful but having changed that. Then it says that the person is forgiving thier ex-girlfriend and had decided to forgive them before, but couldn't get ahold of them. The photo part is about remebering and doubting love. The picture brought back the negative feelings that led to a breakup, and he tried not to blame his ex. He then says that he wrote the song because he wanted to love someone very much, and to let the girl know he had changed and that he hadn't forgotten her. After that I'm lost.
