Well, to start off with, please don't tell me to search the lyrics that I temporarily remember on google because i tried several times and trust me, it didn't work. Can someone help me break into the rap business?
im 15 and inly been rapping for a year but have been told on many occasions i have a naturall talent for rapping and would be wasting an oportunity to suceed in music by not inuring i make it as a rapper, if im not ready now i kno for a fact i have potential and could suceed in the industry if i was just given a break in life. i wrote down a quick rap i literally thought of in 10 mins and it doesnt have much meaning other than im talking about how the rap business needs to be how its used to be instead of all these **** rappers now days, also another rap of mine i wrote 2 days ago in about 4 hours so whether you think it is as good or not as the first one u can see how much i have improved within 2 days.
Rap number 1: Time to write: 10 mins from top of my head
your complexity is next to me its making me so vex you see
a wasted oppurtunity as im covered in my sweat to be..
the biggest thing in rap since pac compacked his cab and went to sleep
lay in a whole six foot deep and never woke up to reflect his streak
infect the g's and refugees with my flows thats so complex you see
a rhyme structure that will let you see the next thing in the rap industry
their wanting me to suceed and make rap what it used to be
*** the waynes, rosses, and guccis
lets take it back to Em' and see the king of the rap embacy
he would mangle handle any emcee of white black or blue ethnicity.......
i cant be bothered to write more as its just of the top of my head.....
Rap number 2: Time to write: 4 hours
ima intercept it, reck it and even correct it
my flow is so sweet on the mic its a killa for diabetics
roll the credits, your careers has been lyrically ended
by a teen repremended before his pubes were detected
i hope you see my real talent with no time to inspect it
i need to direct it, all these good signs are connected
i wont project in the game until my rhymes are perfected
you need to see the backround that im from, and respect it
this country needs disecting from the crime thats erecting
pass the goverment a map i think they need some directing
even thou i will struggle the drug game disconnecting
its the life that i need its a life with protection
its a life where i rap and i need no aggression
this is my only shot to make my mum proud of her egg n'
we are taking rap to war and i can be the main weapon
this is a methaphor for rap for every minute and second
i hope you can see through your eyes that i could use a break
im the kinda guy struggling to get through everyday
dealing with the white powder just to put food on my plate
i just need to fix my life with some glue and some tape
only joking, my life turned blue at that stage

until someone spots me and concludes my final page
but for now ,my lifes just a sho-in for waste
its backwards, i try to put my sho-in my lace
i wanna look back and say i flew to the states
made my first million as i grew in the rap-race
grow a fat face, easily recognisable in that fat place
knows as the cat who spats lyrics like a mace
i wanna be known as that lyrical legend
the guy who sprayed a verse in only 7 seconds

Hun, if you like your lyrics, screw what anyone else thinks. Don't dumb your lyrics down by calling them gay or whatever. Also, you're only 13; you shouldn't have a day job, and despite what assholes out there say, you probably don't need to keep it =P People slam great artists all the time. Even so, if you yourself have little confidence in your own voice, people sell and buy lyrics and melodies all the time!
I have an entire document full of lyrics; like how you've set them out here, just a lot bigger! Even if some of your lyrics seem a bit immature, as you grow, so will they. I've been writing songs since I was like, 9 or 10, when I discovered my voice. I think my first song was called "Let's go out" and consisted of "Let's go out, have some fun, play some sport, in the sun, being happy, etc..." I love these two lines. Soon as I saw them I said, "There's something there." What you need to do with these lyrics is pick out your favourites, which will totally change with your mood. Then you've got two sort of paths you can take; think up more abstract sorts of things, or put it into a mood. These lyrics I'd say are definitely a bit more sad, but you could twist them into like, someone draws the line, you rub it out, like the line's a barrier you're breaking down, as opposed to a connection you're breaking up. Keep revising whatever you write, and don't delete anything. Put your songs over time into like, year or age folders or something, and eventually, you might come across something you write now, and find one part of it you really, really love, and totally revamp the song into something that fits you and the world in time.

There needs to be more to the end of yours. And don't try to make it rhyme (I feel like you might have done that in the chorus part) just let it flow. One way or another the right words will find a way in there.

I've noticed that some people are more drawn towards an artist rather than the music they make. My question is do you think this is the case and if it is, is it a good thing. I reckon I am sometimes guilty of this.
My personal opinion: Some people have forgotten the essence of rap. For me it is to rhyme dope lyrics over a selected beat. Or I could say describing the message in the best fashion possible. Selecting beats and creative ideas regarding music make you a better artist in any genre not generally a better rapper.
Therefore I reckon people need to stop looking at things outside of hip-hop to judge the best rapper, basically choose a favorite and a best. If your favorite is the one you regard the best so be it. Remember I am just referring to being a good rapper. While some rappers produce excellent lyrics and delivery they are not getting the listen because of their beats or look. For example if i was to ask someone to close their eyes and listen to a song they wouldn't listen for 10 seconds without asking who it is and how they look. They are more interested in being an artist and theres nothing wrong with that, but then don't rule them out as a rapper compared to someone you spend virtually every day looking at.

Take Emma Watson as one example, or even Laura Marling (who is very humble for her age, and 'displays' a mature posture and way of speaking/writing), Marina and The Diamonds, a 23 year old whom writes Porn Is Good For the Soul as a "tongue in cheek" thing.
But is she setting herself up for ridicule, besides the 'joke'? And if so, does she learn from it, that it was only a joke and she was young, her rather does not understand the extent to which the lyrics could actually be damaging if a stranger recognises her on a night out...?

This doesn't seem to be the case with Laura Marling, but instead taking on the conservative 'adult' writing lyrics about death, married bondage, relationships and so on - but who doesn't? It seems concepts can be easily banded around, which they can, and they change their meaning for you as you adapt and grow older but when does a person become formed, in their own opinion and not just their own but is taken seriously as so?

Do you reckon that the agents or whoever look after the celebrity youth persuade them at a certain age to dress differently now they are out of their teens, or indeed in the case of Britany Spears, earlier?
This doesn't seem to be the case with Laura Marling, but instead taking on the conservative 'adult' writing lyrics about death, married bondage, relationships and so on - but who doesn't? It seems concepts can be easily banded around, which they can, and they change their meaning for you as you adapt and grow older but when does a person become formed, in their own opinion and not just their own but is taken seriously as so?
Or do you still get the flack, do people take YOU seriously?
If not why? And is it down to individuality rather than age?
My personal belief as it stands though is that a 20 year old is still a child, in my eyes.
Yes they can take drugs at a party (though this does not really expand on being an adult at all, if you think it exists), or have sex, or write songs about death but what really captures the change in your conceptual reality?
Does Marina understand her sexually explicit lyrics or is looking for approval for these terms her need to grow up, into a corrupted/controlled society - as she may only be half aware of, or fully aware of, and is it necessary for her to 'prove' she knows or do we unknowingly pass too much information on in casual conversation?

I've heard of the song too and i think i have come to my best conclusion that he is talking to someone that died. The first time i heard it, i assumed that the speaker was someone who died and is singing from heaven( not that it is possible but i've heard a song made to sound that way). My assumption came from wat he said in the song " BUt i never did forget your name" but wen i listened to the song again i found out that sometimes the pain and hurt he felt still comes back again. My best understanding of this song is that the speaker had a great misunderstanding with someone else, who he forgave but died before he could say he had forgiven the person. He is telling the person who died that he is not the same anylonger and that he is a changed person. It's a dedication to the person who died that he( the speaker) is not the person he was or was known to be. He is now a changed man.Maybe it shows that we don't know when a loved one would be gone so we should always whisper words of love cos u might never know when it would be too late and u wouldnt want ur last words to that person to be one of hatred.

In terms of lyrics, Lennon probably wins it and for vocals, I have to give it to Mercury.
I reckon Queen could have been the more successful of the two if Mercury hadn't revealed his preferences. Afterall, "I want to break free" really killed Queen.

He incorporates a lot of genres into his music and makes something of his own out of it. So listening to one or two of his songs doesn't mean knowing his music. One of his most beautiful piano songs is 'Poses'. Then there are adult pop songs like 'California'. And there is a lot in between. His music has been labelled as baroque pop, operatic pop or chamber pop, but these terms are not enough to describe his whole music.
You can start on youtube, but often the videos there only show (great) stripped down versions with piano or guitar accompaniment. You should also try to listen into the orchestrated studio versions on iTunes or so.
Hope you appreciate my suggestion.

I really don't know why people have turned their backs on them. I love Green Day. they have been my favorite band for over 5 years. I have every one of their songs on iTunes. The biggest thing to remember is that if you like them, keep listening to them, no matter what other people think. You should also get into their newest music video, Bullet in a Bible. It is sweet.

Their last rock opera album probably ranks as one of the best of their overall careers. In terms of music overall - it will bridge generations.

That music is different than the american idiot cd. And brainstew is 50 times more punk than blvd of broken dreams can ever be. That is why people say they sold out. They changed there music. You can make the debate that its still good. But that isnt the point the point is their music in 2006 is different than Greenday of 1994. So thats why people dont like them. its not the same band.

1. They only had one song brought out.
2. Their music video for that song was filmed at a hair salon and on top of a roof.
3. The group specialise in MCing
4. THe group consists of about 5 or 6 girls.
5. The girls are around the age of 16 or 17.
6. In the music video the girls have braided hair.
7. They also wear shorts and basketball jerseys that were green and white.
8. One of the members looks a little bit like Christina Milian.
9. THe song was out a few years ago.
10. My sis seems to reckon either the name of the group or the song title has the word "top" in it.

I was going to suggest Precious as well, although I don't think they MC'd or had a video in a Salon
I can only think of 3 girl bands that were around at that time ish that were not that big. Although I would not call their music MCing. The video does not sound familar though
Girl Thing - there were five of them. They tried to rap in some of their songs. They do have a song called Girls on Top.
