I've been listening to Slipknot's new album 'All Hope Is Gone' a lot, and I LOVE the lyrical content...?

normally I don't pay much attention to lyrics in music, certainly not if it's slipknot, for example "people = s--t, if you're 555 i'm 666, spit it out wait and bleed" are all extremely silly lyrics, but I've been listening to 'All Hope is Gone' a lot, and I love the lyrics for this album, I'll give you a few examples,



"Question everything we clung to for years"

"Confuse a liar with a savior from fear"

"Create a Myth and Separate the Chosen Ones"

"THE ENDING'S THE SAME / THE WORLD WILL NOT CHANGE"



the first lyric reminds me of trust for the government and how it shouldn't exist, and the last 3 lyrics remind me of Obama, and how he's a lying globalist who will change nothing



"the bill of rights is a bill of sale"

"what will you do when the war is over?"

"what will you do when your system fails?"

"what do you want?"

"what do you need?"

"we'll find a way...when all hope is gone"

"we watched the fall of the elite"

"bury your body, take your disease"

"we'll end the world...when all hope is gone"



The lyrics for this song remind me how the US empire is in decline, and eventually the entire debt backed monetary system is going to collapse, and at the time it'll seem like there's no hope, but we'll find a way, it'll get better eventually.



I dunno, I just dig the lyrics a whole lot, there's more to it than I've written here.

Slipknot has always been a lyrically strong band. The lyrics accomplish what they set out to accomplish. People = Sh!t wasn't meant to be too thought provoking...you know? But All Hope Is Gone is a much more pointed and direct commentary...and you are right it is an amazing album...with amazing statements...and it is also musically...just ridiculously good. Saw them in concert...they were great... *sigh* It is a little "softer" than their other albums as well...I have heard complaints about that...but I love it.

Well, I've always liked Slipknot lyrics, and I think most of their songs are good lyrically.I don't think the lyrics in All Hope Is Gone are any better than the rest of their albums.Really, I'm not into that kind of lyrics.
I think it is pretty good but out of all the songs on All Hope is Gone I like Gematria ( The Killing Name) but Slipknot always had good lyrics
